This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the Maryland Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately. This action is for Lieutenant Mark Dranbauer, Jr. of the Baltimore City Fire Department who died today, Saturday, May 17, 2025, from injuries sustained in the line of duty on Monday, May 12, 2025.

The Maryland flag is also currently flying at half-staff in honor of Emergency Vehicle Drive Charles Mudra. Additional information regarding the status of the flag will be issued when it is available.

Funeral plans have been set for Thursday, May 29

In honor of the life and service of Cleveland Fire Cadet Symeon Williams, Governor Mike DeWine has ordered that U.S. and Ohio flags be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Cuyahoga County and at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus. This order will remain in effect until sunset on the day of his funeral.

Governor Mike Braun is directing all flags to be flown at half-staff in Vermillion County on Friday, May 23, 2025, in honor of Clinton Mayor Jack Gilfoy Jr., 75, who passed away May 17, 2025.

Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset in Vermillion County on Friday, May 23. Governor Braun is asking businesses and residents located in Vermillion County to lower their flags as well.

Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #261 ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Fri., May 23, 2025, in honor of former Wisconsin State Rep. James F. Rooney, who passed away on Sat., May 3, 2025, at the age of 89.
